My name is John Burke.  I'm not your typical engineer.

 

Over the past twenty plus years of my professional career, I've found that my greatest asset is in getting things done through difficult situations.  And now, I love to teach other professionals how to do the same thing by applying the  effective and simple techniques that I've learned over the years.

I invested 7 years of my career on one of the most rewarding projects of my life - Westminster Station.  I had the opportunity to negotiate with the railroad, the Regional Transportation District, Department of Transportation, Federal Highways Administration, Corps of Engineers, Department of Public Health and Environment and adjacent governmental agencies to bring an award winning project to fruition.  In all, more than $80 million dollars have been invested into this project area with more to come!

I am now working to create the City of Westminster's new Downtown, by converting an old 100-acre regional mall into the epicenter of experiential activity with new residential, retail, hospitality, office and entertainment offerings encapsulated in a new urban form with over 7 million square feet of development.  As a quasi-master developer, I get to negotiate with private developers and work through the entitlement process with our internal teams and with our elected officials in order to get this project built.  We currently have over $250 million dollars of private projects under construction opening later this year.
